Susan Nickell
With a deep commitment to my profession, I have been privileged to be a kitchen specialist for 26 years. My formal education includes a Diploma of Interior Design from Mount Royal University, supported by some foundational work at ACAD, and expanded at SAIT by becoming a certified AutoCAD operator. I've enjoyed designing for clientele throughout Calgary, as well as the Okanagan, Vancouver, Toronto, California, and New York. I'm honoured that my work has been featured in numerous publications including Western Living and Canadian House and Home.
Qualities I see in nature, architecture, and photography inform many of my designs, alongside inspiration gained from travel experiences and a variety of recreational pursuits. These observations will help us uncover the ideal solution for you needs, your home, and your investment.
Ron Mort
For over twenty years, Ron has been designing spaces for home renovation clients and construction builders. During the last few years, he has turned his attention toward kitchen and bathroom designs. We are lucky to have him join our great family of kitchen designers here at Merit Kitchen Design centre in Calgary.
Ron obtained his Architectural Technology Diploma at S.A.I.T., and when he is not travelling or playing golf he is helping home owners find a kitchen design that suits their lifestyle and exceeds their expectations with every kitchen project he works on.

Designing a new kitchen or bathroom can be an overwhelming experience, but it doesn't have to be. My goal is to make the process informative and enjoyable. I listen to my client's wants and needs; every detail is important in helping you design a space that reflects your personal taste and style.
I have over 20 years of experience designing kitchens and bathrooms, and have been a member of the Merit Kitchens family for over 15 years. My background includes formal drafting training, NKBA training, color theory, 20/20 design, and extensive appliance industry knowledge. My projects range from new large custom home builds to straight forward renovations, with many being featured in various home and lifestyle publications.
